Meet Grace, your Massage therapist
We’ve helped thousands of women over 30+ years! Training for a race, chasing a PB, coming back from injury, or just done with a body that won't bounce back the way it used to. You put in the work; you deserve to feel as good as you push yourself to be
Grace works alongside Osteopaths, Specialist in rehabilitation, a Sonographer and an onsite Medical Doctor, specialising in Longevity. So if something needs more than massage, you're already in the right place.

Built for bodies that train hard and don't want to slow down. Whether you're prepping for an event, recovering from one, or just putting your body through serious weekly load, sports massage keeps you moving instead of sidelined. It's firmer, faster paced, and focused on the muscle groups doing the work, so you can keep training instead of nursing an injury that a bit of maintenance could've prevented.
-
Most people book this when something's been nagging at them for weeks and they've just been pushing through it. That's the point of remedial, it's targeted, it finds the actual problem area and works on it properly rather than gliding over the top. If you've got a tight shoulder from your desk setup, a stiff lower back, or an old niggle that flares up under stress, this is the one that gets into it. You'll leave feeling like something's actually been fixed, not just relaxed for an hour.

You're in control the whole way through — you set the pressure, and comfortable work does the same job as firm work at a cellular level, minus the wincing. There's nothing to flush and nothing that needs to be found and broken; your results come from your nervous system settling and your tissue responding, not from pain tolerance. It starts with a quick conversation about your goals, then a genuinely evidence-backed session:
-
Not sure which treatment suits you best? Don't overthink it… just book a remedial or Sports massage and Grace will talk you through everything when you arrive. She'll tailor the session to exactly what your body needs on the day. No wrong answer.

Regular massage isn't about finding the fanciest technique, a landmark trial found relaxation massage works just as well as clinical "structural" massage for chronic back pain. What matters more is frequency and consistency: your body responds to massage like a dose, and the biggest, most reliable benefit, a real reduction in anxiety and low mood, builds over a course of sessions, not a single visit. Book the version and the schedule you'll actually stick to; that's the one backed by the evidence —

Wear whatever's comfortable to arrive in. On the table, you'll undress to your comfort level, usually down to underwear for remedial work, and you'll be draped with a towel the entire time, with only the area being worked on exposed. Grace will step out of the room while you get on and off the table. It's designed to feel private and comfortable at every step.
-
Massage can involve firm pressure on tight or sensitive tissue - but it should never be unbearable. Grace will check in throughout and adjust pressure to your comfort level. Some mild soreness in the 24 hours after is normal and usually means the right areas were targeted.

Honestly. Not necessarily. Massage can be genuinely helpful for chronic pain syndrome and as part of a broader management program it's an excellent strategy. But some presentations are here to stay to some degree, and part of good clinical care is being honest about that. Managing pain well and managing our expectations around it, is sometimes the most important work we do. Grace won't promise you a cure in these instances. She'll give you her best, work alongside the team where needed, and help you find a level of function and comfort that lets you get on with your life.
-
Yes… and if she doesn't, she'll check in with the broader team at The Movement Philosophy to make sure she's across everything before your session. Grace is highly skilled but she's also human. If she feels your presentation is beyond the scope of massage alone, she'll flag it and we'll make sure you get in front of the right person. That might be Rick for Osteopathy and Rehabilitation, Dr Lisa Hackett for diagnostic imaging, or Dr Danny Cai for medical management. You're not just booking a massage, you're walking into a connected clinical team.

Not at all. Rick Hartley is also available and more than capable of hands-on soft tissue work if that's your preference. Rick's primary focus is osteopathy and rehabilitation, but if you'd like more emphasis on soft tissue mobilisation as part of your session just let him know when you book and he'll factor that in. Between Rick and Grace, you're in good hands either way.
